I actually watched with my family on Thanksgiving Eve and it didn't even dawn on me the date. I certainly feel that my life would not be if not that for this wonderfully brilliant mind and Dr. Taussig's and Dr. Blalock's persistence. HBO made it a few years ago and it chronicles the relationship you just wrote about and the amazing road to the surgeries that saved our babies' lives. We watched it and bawled. I never knew that the very first truly OPEN heart surgeries were performed on blue babies and we have Vivien Thomas to thank.
